Later, they were all sitting around after we'd eaten five pizzas, and discussed who still needed to do a midnight Easter run .. turned out Brandi & Jaime did, but with the kids all ready for bed, they decided to go different directions. The dads stayed home with the kids, and the moms went shopping. Sunday we actually did get up early, despite Nana going to bed at one and Shelly & Brandi going to bed at 4!
It was all worth it, tho, when we still managed to get up and moving and went to 8am Mass in Tongie. Father Mark is such a good speaker, and all enjoyed his sermon. Jeff and Jaime and family went to church with her parents, and Kalinda and Biju went to church with their neighbor Elizabeth. All did well :-). Afterwards, our group (Papa, Nana, Shelly and hers and Matt and his) stopped by Caseys and got some donuts for breakfast, went home and started cooking for Easter Dinner. Terrible when you start cooking about 10:30 and are not all finished till almost 4! Well, we can blame some of that on the ham ... it took longer than imagined. It turned out great tho!
Even before much dinner was eaten, there seemed to be the "turkey effect" going around:

Papa finally got around to cleaning off the van like he'd been promising all week, and had a little helper named Paige to do the job:
Next came dinner, and all enjoyed the feast:
Then came the Easter Egg hunt - here you see Paige as she is trying to hold the ones she found so far (they forgot to take out their bags/baskets) along with Lenley and Thomas. This year they each had a certain color, so it was easier to know who got what eggs.
We then proceeded to play ball .. some watched, some batted and some caught .. umm .. or is that chased?? the ball ... Here is Papa pitching to Jenna, and the cheering section did a great job!
Partway through the "game", it was almost time for The McCain bunch to leave, so we took a break for Brandon's early birthday cake - which had a very tart frosting! (That picture will have to come later, as it is on another disk that hasn't been downloaded yet).Hope you all had as great an Easter as we did!
